My family Logo

My family logo is simple. Not much detail right? Well, you must be curious if it has a meaning or not. Well, it does and so here it is… The praying hands represent my family’s love for prayer and how we love to pray for other people. The Flower inside the cross represents Samoa’s national flower, and how I’m from the small island of Samoa. The stars represent the number of family members I have, but as you can see there is one star that is different from the others and that star represents my dad. My dad passed away over 12 years ago, but he will always be in our family’s hearts. Also there is a hidden heart inside the top star, and it represents how my mum is the heart of our family of 5. Lastly, the cross. The cross represents my religion. My religion is a christian and I believe that Jesus died on the cross for you and for me to save us from our sins and so I hope you come to realize that.

Thank you!

Private vs Public

Talofa Lava! Today in Cybersmart class we learned about things we should and shouldn’t share online with public viewers. We learned  all the public things we could share to people and all the private things we shouldn’t share.

About me

Talofa Lava.

My name is Sapapalii and I am a year 8 student at Glen Innes School Auckland, New Zealand.I am the youngest of 4 siblings, and I am full Samoan and part German. I come from a very big, humongous family tree.My favourite subjects in school are maths, reading, writing, P.E and recess because I mostly enjoy doing these subjects outside of school.(e.g – home, church). If I had one superior hobby, it would be singing. Definitely. I also love to learn new maths tricks I could use to make solving maths problems easier. I also love to take care of the kids at my church.

My Ideal Holiday

My Ideal Holiday

The US, known for their delicious and tasty hot dogs. “Wouldn’t it be nice just to go back to the US?” asked Mom, snapping me out of my daze. “Yeah, I guess so.” It had been over six years since I had seen my siblings and my fathers grave. Thinking about it is just so daunting and the thought of not seeing my siblings is pretty hard.I miss them a lot just to not think about them every single day.

“Li’i, wake up!” It’s a normal school day and I have to wake up so that my mom and I can have our prayer in the morning. As always I mention my siblings in my prayers, it’s hard to think that you haven’t seen your siblings for over six years. Walking to the school building, the only thing I can think about is seeing my siblings together with my mom and I.The US is known for many things. Things such as their famous Hollywood movies, especially their award-winning movies and books. One of the most played sports in the US is American football and I am honoured that my nephews play in a team for American football. Most of my dad’s side are living permanently in America and I don’t think that I have met any of them (so that’s probably part of the reason why I want to go to America.)My dad has about 10 other siblings which for might have been quite busy for my grandparents to take care of. The US is full of amazing actresses and actors and also incredible singers such as Rihanna, Beyonce and many more other singers. California is also known for their box houses.

Lastly, the reason why I would definitely like to go to the US is because I One hundred percent want to go visit my dad’s grave. And if I had one chance to go to the US then I would.

Athletics (intro/paragraph)

It was a sunny day and also a great day for our school athletics! I was excited but when I saw the list of the games I was in, I was only in one! So then I had to tell Mr Naidoo to add me to about 4 or 3 other games. As we were going to the field I heard Mr Hendricks say into the microphone:’ Rm 9 we are all waiting for you!’. Once we got onto the field our athletics were running and on the go.

Proverb of the day

The meaning of this proverb for me is that it is better and easier to stop something bad before it happens rather than repairing something after you or it has happened.

Tyrannosaurus vs Velociraptor

Talofa Lava! Today (at home) I read about another dinosaur war book. This war though was between the Tyrannosaurus Rex and the Velociraptor. I found out that Velociraptors were, well, born or lived way before the first Tyrannosaurus Rex ever lived! (A very interesting fact indeed 🙂

A Velociraptor was less bigger and less heavier compared to a T-Rex (Tyrannosaurus Rex). The meaning of the name of the dinosaur Velociraptor is ‘Fast thief’. They weigh 35 pounds and they are 3 feet tall (which explains why they are called ‘fast’ thieves). Their speed is termed as quick but nimble. Their light bodies help them to fly like the wind. The Velociraptor has a stiff tail. His weapon is similar to a Tyrannosaurus Rex’s weapon because instead of using its teeth to attack it uses its sharp claws to attack. A Velociraptors attack style is actually different from how a Tyrannosaurus Rex attacks his prey. What a Velociraptor does to attack is that it slashes and bites his enemy. Velociraptors fought like wild cats. Tyrannosaurus Rex was a very strong dinosaur , well at least in my opinion. They had at least 50 to 60 large teeth to use to crush down on their prey. They were 7 tonnes and 20 feet tall. They were fast but quite clumsy.
